Summary of Library Legislation in the 2007 Connecticut General Assembly Connecticard was increased by $250,000 to $1,226,028. This is the second year this important program has received an increase. The Connecticut Library Consortium (CLC) budget was increased by $50,00 to $350,000. In addition, the budget included a new line for InfoAnytime for $150,000. iCONN funding was increased from $1,894,322 to $2,067,485. This will enable iCONN to continue access to the Hartford Courant Historical (that was started by contributions from libraries). An Act Concerning Public Libraries, which updated statutory language regarding libraries and strengthened confidentiality protection for public library patrons, was signed into law by Gov. Rell as Public Act 07-227. Grants to Public Libraries was level funded at $347,109. Final action is still pending on bonding for public library construction.
