The 119th Annual Conference will be held at
Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT.

Don't forget our VENDORS!
Read Rob Simon's message.
From a baby at a lapsit program in a public library, to a student in a school library, on to the academic library of higher education, and then back to the public library as an adult bringing their own children to lapsit, the library is a constant in our lives. Through this time of economic turmoil and uncertain budgets, librarians have worked together to preserve the tools required to provide information to all patrons. We seek to minimize our differences and
celebrate our common ground!

Some programs you'll see...
Monday – 10:15 am ♦ Children and the Law
Whether it's dealing with unattended children, showing movies, posting photographs of teens on the library's Facebook page, or distributing copies of songs and finger plays, youth services librarians and library directors regularly face questions with legal implications . Join Southern Connecticut State University Professor Arlene Bielefield, M.L.S./ J.D., for advice on navigating the often murky waters of the laws that apply to these issues. Don't wait until you face a legal challenge; learn how to create library policies and procedures that keep you on the right side of the law.
Monday – 10:15 am ♦ Using Library Toolbars
Bring library resources to your patrons wherever they are on the web! UCONN librarians Marsha Lee and Phara Bayonne will give you tips on creating your library's own custom, downloadable browser toolbar using Conduit, a free web-based service.
Monday – 2:00 pm ♦ Speed Mentoring
New to the profession? Looking for a change? You're invited to attend one of our popular Speed Mentoring sessions. Modeled on the concept of "Speed Dating," this program provides the opportunity for students and change-seekers to spend a few minutes conversing with seasoned librarians from a variety of library settings and specialties. Make a connection and network with colleagues who understand your career aspirations. Registration is limited, so register today by visiting speedmentoring.pbworks.com! See also "Speed Mentoring Tuesday."
Tuesday – 9:00 am Keynote ♦ Jeff Goodell
Jeff Goodell is a contributing editor for Rolling Stone and a frequent contributor to the New York Times Magazine. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller Our Story: 77 Hours That Tested Our Friendship and Our Faith.
